Who we are

The China Office of Finnish Industries Oy is a private limited liability company, which is owned by 25 Finnish companies as equal partners. Each Shareholder has the right to nominate one ordinary Board member and one deputy Board member to be appointed to the Board.


Esko Aho is the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Our companies


Atria is one of the leading meat and food companies in Northern Europe. The company is established in 1903 and valued by our customers, personnel and owners. We have been producing food for more than 100 years, and we want to continue to do so. In 2021, our net sales were approximately EUR 1.5 billion, and Atria had around 3,700 employees in Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Estonia.

Finnair is a network airline, specializing in connecting passenger and cargo traffic between Asia, North America and Europe. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do – Finnair intends to reduce its net emissions by 50% by the end of 2025 from the 2019 baseline and achieve carbon neutrality latest by the end of 2045. Finnair is a member of the Oneworld alliance. Finnair Plc’s shares are quoted on the Nasdaq Helsinki stock exchange.

Finnish Minerals Group

The mission of Finnish Minerals Group is to responsibly maximise the value of Finnish minerals. The group manages the State’s mining industry shareholdings and strives to develop the Finnish value chain of lithium-ion batteries. Through their work, they contribute to Europe moving towards electric transport and a more sustainable future. The Group companies comprise Finnish Minerals Group and Terrafame Oy as well as Sokli Oy and Finnish Battery Chemicals and its subsidiaries.

Kemira is a global leader in sustainable chemical solutions for water intensive industries. We provide best suited products and expertise to improve our customers’ product quality, process and resource efficiency. Our focus is on pulp & paper, water treatment and energy industry. In 2021, Kemira had annual revenue of around EUR 2.7 billion and around 5,000 employees. Kemira shares are listed on the Nasdaq Helsinki Ltd.


Kesko and K-retailers together form K Group, which is the biggest trading sector operator in Finland and one of the biggest in Northern Europe. We operate in the grocery trade, building and technical trade, and car trade. Our divisions and chains act in close cooperation with retailer entrepreneurs and other partners.

Kesko has around 1,800 stores engaged in chain operations in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. K Group’s retail sales in 2021 totalled some €15 billion. K Group employs some 45,000 people in total. Kesko’s shares are listed on Nasdaq Helsinki.


A global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, KONE provides elevators, escalators and automatic building doors, as well as solutions for maintenance and modernization to add value to buildings throughout their life cycle. In 2023, KONE had annual sales of EUR 11.0 billion, and at the end of the year over 60,000 employees. KONE class B shares are listed on the Nasdaq Helsinki Ltd. in Finland. KONE is the market leader in China. The company serves over 30 000 customers and employs over 23 000 employees across the country.


Konecranes is a world-leading group of lifting businesses, serving a broad range of customers, including manufacturing and process industries, shipyards, ports and terminals. Konecranes provides productivity enhancing lifting solutions as well as services for lifting equipment of all makes. In 2021, Group sales totaled EUR 3.2 billion. The Group has approximately 16,600 employees in around 50 countries. Konecranes shares are listed on the Nasdaq Helsinki (symbol: KCR).


Marimekko is a Finnish lifestyle design company renowned for its original prints and colors. Marimekko’s product portfolio comprises high-quality clothing, bags and accessories as well as home décor items ranging from textiles to tableware. In 2021, the company’s net sales were EUR 152 million and brand sales of the products worldwide amounted to EUR 376 million. Globally, there are roughly 150 Marimekko stores, and online store serves customers in 35 countries.

Metsä Group

Metsä Group is leading the way in advancing the bioeconomy. We invest in growth, bioproduct development and a fossil free future. The raw material for our products is renewable wood from sustainably managed northern forests. We focus on the growth sectors of the forest industry: wood supply and forest services, wood products, pulp, fresh fibre paperboards, as well as tissue and greaseproof papers.

Metsä Group’s annual sales amount to approximately EUR 6 billion, and we have around 9,500 employees in 30 countries. Our international Group has its roots in the Finnish forests: our parent company is Metsäliitto Cooperative which is owned by nearly 100,000 forest owners.

Moomin Characters

Moomin Characters Oy Ltd is the official copyright holder of all the Moomin characters. All characters from Moominvalley are trademark registered worldwide. The Moomins are central characters in a series of books and comic strips written by Finnish-Swedish writer and artist Tove Jansson between 1945 and 1980. They are one of Finland’s biggest exports and have a global fan base. The company was founded in the 1950s by Tove Jansson (1914-2001) and her brother Lars Jansson to manage the Moomin copyright, and it is still run by family members. Rights and Brands is the worldwide licensing agent of the company.


Nokia Corporation is a Finnish multinational communications corporation, founded in 1865, with customers in over 130 countries. As a technology leader across mobile, fixed and cloud networks, Nokia solutions enable a more productive, sustainable and inclusive world.

Nokian Tyres

Nokian Tyres develops and manufactures premium tires for people who value safety, sustainability and predictability. Our purpose is to empower the world to drive smarter. Inspired by our Scandinavian heritage, we craft innovative products for passenger cars, trucks and heavy machinery that give you peace of mind in all driving conditions. Our Vianor chain provides tire and car services. In 2021, the company’s net sales were EUR 1.7 billion and it employed some 4,900 people. Nokian Tyres is listed on Nasdaq Helsinki.

OP Corporate Bank

OP Corporate Bank plc is part of OP Financial Group. OP Corporate Bank and OP Mortgage Bank are responsible for OP’s funding in money and capital markets. As laid down in the applicable law, OP Corporate Bank, OP Mortgage Bank and their parent company OP Cooperative and other OP Financial Group member credit institutions are ultimately jointly and severally liable for each other’s debts and commitments. OP Corporate Bank acts as OP Financial Group’s central bank.

Valio is the biggest dairy business in Finland and a major player in the international dairy ingredients market.
