Our work

The China Office of Finnish Industries provides its shareholders with high-quality assessments of developments affecting the business environment in the PRC. Analysis is provided in meetings and in writing via reports and newsletters.

The China Office also supports and facilitates deeper engagement on issues pertaining to China between our shareholders and the Finnish public and private sectors. We seek to do that via joint research and outreach projects that aim to deepen our understanding of developments in China.

The China Office of Finnish Industries is open to many modes of cooperation with China-focused organisations in Finland, across Europe, the United States and Asia.

What we do

Research by the team at the China Office of Finnish Industries primarily focuses on explaining economic developments, policies and legislation of the People’s Republic of China (PRC); assessing political-economic trends affecting the business environment (especially in the sectors that our shareholders operate in), and evaluating the impact of rapidly evolving geopolitical tensions on economic growth and the business environment in the PRC.

Additionally, we conduct in-depth research examining the viability of the PRC’s goals to achieve sustainable growth, and the major challenges facing PRC decisionmakers in pursuing these goals, such as the impact on productivity of an ageing population and environmental hurdles, for example water scarcity.

We monitor and assess geopolitical trends that impact on the PRC’s domestic policy, and interests of our shareholders globally.
