Special briefing on US-China relations, by Mr Ryan Hass, 1 June 2023

In June, the China Office invited special guest Mr Ryan Hass, Michael Armacost Chair in Foreign Policy Studies at the Brookings Institution, to brief shareholder members about US-China relations, and the Taiwan situation.

Ryan Hass is Michael Armacost Chair in Foreign Policy Studies at the Brookings Institution. He was China Director at the National Security Council from 2013 to 2017 and served in the US embassy in Beijing from 2008 to 2012. He is the author of Stronger: Adapting America’s China Strategy in an Age of Competitive Interdependence (Yale University Press, 2021).
