Special briefing on China’s financial outlook, by Dr Ning Zhu, 7 March 2023
In March, the China Office invited special guest Dr Ning Zhu, Senior Partner and Head of China at the Brunswick advisory firm, to brief board members about China’s financial outlook. Dr Zhu shared his views on debt-related challenges and shifting priorities in economic policymaking in China.
Dr Ning Zhu is an expert in behavioural finance, investments, corporate finance, and Asian financial markets. In September 2022, he was appointed Senior Partner and Head of China at the Brunswick advisory firm. He is on leave from the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF), where he is a deputy dean and professor of finance, and he is also a faculty fellow at the Yale University International Center for Finance. He is the author of the books The Investor’s Enemy and China’s Guaranteed Bubble. He received a PhD in finance from Yale University.
